Services held for Smithland resident

Mary Florence Zortman, Smithland, Iowa, died October 10, 1979, at Onawa, Iowa. She had reached the age of 91 years, 4 months and 6 days.

She was born June 4, 1888, at Luverne, Minnesota, to Miletis and Anna Marie Zortman Button. On August 15, 1910, she was united in marriage to Elmer Zortman in Minnesota. He died in 1954. She had lived in Smithland, Iowa, until four years ago
when she moved to Elmwood Nursing Home, Onawa, Iowa.

She is survived by one son, Gordon Zortman of Burbank, California: 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 daughters and her parents.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 1979, at the Willman Funeral Chapel, Rodney, Iowa, with Rev. Dale Church officiating. The organist was Mrs. Maude Persinger.

Casketbearers were Earl Hines, Carl Callaghan, Orville Lucas, Wilfred Uhl, Ralph Payne and Ed Kelly.

Interment was in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland, Iowa.
